The Breslin is in the process of opening in New York City's branch of the Ace Hotel, so far they are serving breakfast, brunch and lunch, but no dinner yet. This restaurant is certainly one of the most anticipated in downtown NYC this fall, despite its somewhat out of the way location on 29th Street between Broadway and 5th Avenue. It is the third restaurant chef April Bloomfield has been involved in since she first made her mark in the kitchen of the West Village's The Spotted Pig back in 2003, and The Breslin has a similar British, meat-centric menu. So far she serves a full English breakfast, a rich, cardiac-arrest-inducing grilled cheese that has a creamy texture and includes house smoked ham (an egg can also be added), and a peanut encrusted doughnut like banana-bourbon sandwich, amongst a number of other items. The atmosphere is pub-like and suits the Ace Hotel's relaxed vibe - right down to the no reservations policy.
